Ramblings of a Writer Blog

Because we’re counting down the days until CURTIS, I thought it would be interesting to get the Walker brothers to share with us some of their memorable moments. In talking to them, I asked them to write a letter to their parents, recalling one or more of those moments. Each day you’ll see a new letter from one of the brothers. I hope you enjoy!!!

Letter from Kaleb Walker

Dear Mom & Pop,

Let’s just say that I hope Mason and Kellan don’t figure out a fraction of what we did as kids. I have to give you guys props for managing to keep us in line as much as you did. I can remember so many times when Pop was ready to string us up by our shoelaces. Fun times!

I think the time I remember most was shortly after Pop had finished painting the kitchen. I remember wanting to help, but he told me I’d have to wait until I was a little bit older. He said the paintbrush was too big for me. So, rather than argue, I fished out Mom’s fingernail polish and proceeded to paint the wall in my bedroom. And the carpet. And my leg. I then invited you both to come check out the masterpiece.

Something I might’ve left out of that story was the fact that Sawyer showed me where the fingernail polish was. He even helped me to pick out which colors to use.

Sometimes I wonder how y’all made it.

Love,
Kaleb

  1. Why do I have a feeling they're blaming Sawyer, but maybe he only did some of it? Lol! Like it's a practical joke on Sawyer just because they feel they owe him for all the times it really was his fault for getting them in trouble.
Then again, it's 'Will work for sex' Sawyer. Damn, I love that man!
