Okay, wait. That sounds dirty, right? Hahaha. Yeah, it definitely does. Get your mind out of the gutter.
So it’s been a couple of years, maybe 3 since I last put up my Christmas village. I will not lie, I LOVE the idea of the village, but getting it set up is a serious labor of love. It takes hours and hours and hours to unbox the houses, arrange and rearrange, plug them up, blah, blah, blah. Not to mention, getting the room emptied out, the tables set up beforehand and so on and so forth. I’m tired just thinking about it. This year I was going to go all out, even started posting videos of the setup on TikTok but then … I got sick. And I don’t mean the sniffles. I mean the full-blown, don’t-want-to-get-out-of-bed, don’t-want-to-do-anything sick. Body aches, chills, cough, etc. It was horrible.
But I stuck it out as best I could and managed to put a good majority of it together. In this video, you see about 85% of the completed project. There are some things that didn’t get added, some lights that weren’t plugged up. Unfortunately, there’s a small section I didn’t get on video and since I’m obsessive when it comes to clutter and incomplete things, I’ve already taken it down.
However, I hope you’ll enjoy the little bit of escape that this offers. It might seem daunting at 11 minutes long, but I promise, it goes by fast and there’s plenty to see (plus a bit of commentary on my part) and even some music to make it fun.
With that said, I hope you enjoy!
Oh, and for those of you who might have your own villages, I highly recommend a couple of places I found this year. I went in search of village accessories which led me to Etsy for the very first time and OMG. I’m not sure it’s safe for me to be on that site for long because there is so much that I want.
The video highlights what I’m talking about, just in case you’re interested.
