📖 Book Description
Connor Hughes is a bonafide badass. His private security firm is renowned for its effectiveness. He’s renowned for his lethal precision and iron self-control. But when the former Marine meets a gorgeous young hacker with a mouth as smart as her brain, his control unravels in ways he never could have predicted.
Tabitha West is a genius MIT dropout with a bad attitude, an obsession with Hello Kitty, and piercings in unmentionable places. Known in hacker circles as Polaroid due to her photographic memory, she’s as secretive as she is accustomed to working alone. So when Connor decides she’s the only one who can help him catch a cyber criminal intent on taking down one of his clients, she tells him exactly where he can stick it.
But when the cyber criminal turns out to be a dark presence from Tabby’s past, Tabby and Connor are drawn into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. They find themselves fighting not only their common enemy, but also an explosive desire that threatens to consume them. When the stakes are this high and the game this deadly, will falling in love be the most dangerous move of all?

HIGHLIGHT OF THE STORY FOR ME
The first page all the way to the last page.
I can’t pick just one thing. It’s been a long time since a book has held my attention like this one did.
I started reading J.T. Geissinger’s books a couple of years ago. I will start off by saying her writing style is what captured my attention in the beginning. That and the depth of her stories. Wicked Sexy was one of those that snagged my attention on the very first page and held it until the end.
No, I didn’t read it in one sitting, but that’s my own fault. I read at night, when I go to bed, so I’m usually getting hit in the face by my Kindle when I slip off into dreamland. That wasn’t the case here. I actually had to force myself to stop reading so I could sleep.
Okay. Let’s do this.
“Should I jump to the ending? Spoiler alert: the hero saves her.” Tabby looks over at me, her eyes shining like gems in the dark. “A real hero would teach the princess how to save herself.”
Let’s talk about Connor Hughes, the sexy, brooding, former Marine with the big biceps and even bigger heart. It’s clear from the beginning that Connor has a thing for Tabby. And, like a young boy with a crush, he finds tugging on her ponytail an efficient way to irritate her and entertain himself.
And then there’s Tabitha West, the MIT dropout whose sharp tongue is almost as sharp as her mind. This woman is pure fire from beginning to end. She’s smart and sassy and everything I want to be when I grow up.
These two … wow. If you like witty banter as part of your buildup, this book will not let you down. That is one thing about J.T. Geissinger that I absolutely love – she can write the back and forth brilliantly.
This book was packed with action and suspense. At every turn, I was holding my breath, anticipating what was about to happen. Admittedly, the relationship between Connor and Tabby was secondary to the suspense, but it was done so well, I think fans of romance AND fans of thrillers would enjoy this one. The author definitely did her homework when writing this. The depth of knowledge when it came to hacking was impressive.
From their cross-country road trip to Tabby being swept off to an FBI black site, these two kept me rooting for their HEA while I let the action sweep me away. And I loved that Tabby was smart, strong-willed, and determined enough to save herself even though Connor was just as determined to be her knight in shining armor.
“That’s the most important thing. Stand up to bullies. Even if you accomplish nothing else with your life, standing up to a bully is enough. Bravery is an end to itself. That’s what God or the universe or the sacred sparkle pony or whatever you call it wants. For us to learn to be brave and to do the right thing. In my humble opinion, that’s the real meaning of life.”
To sum it up…
This one is five stars all the way.
I loved the interactions between Connor and Tabby. Didn’t matter whether they were arguing or in the heated throes, they were perfect together. And it didn’t hurt that Connor fell first and managed to show Tabby that it’s okay to trust.
