Giveaway Rules and Fine Print

I love hosting giveaways, whether I’m celebrating a new release, sharing something fun with Nicole Nation, or surprising readers on social media. The details of each giveaway will appear in its original post, but these general rules apply unless I tell you otherwise. They help keep things fair, clear, and enjoyable for everyone.

These general rules apply to giveaways sponsored by Nicole Edwards Limited unless a giveaway post or separate set of official rules states otherwise.

Each giveaway announcement will identify the prize, entry period, entry method, eligibility requirements, and any additional terms that apply. If the announcement conflicts with this page, the terms stated in the individual giveaway announcement will control.

Nicole Edwards Limited is referred to below as the “Sponsor.”

2. No Purchase Necessary

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve an entrant’s chances of winning.

3. Agreement to the Rules

By entering a giveaway, each entrant agrees to:

These general rules
The instructions and additional terms stated in the giveaway announcement
The Sponsor’s decisions regarding the giveaway

The Sponsor’s decisions are final to the extent permitted by law.

4. Eligibility

Unless the giveaway announcement states otherwise, entrants must:

Be at least 18 years old
Reside in a location where the giveaway and prize are legally permitted
Meet any geographic or other eligibility requirements stated in the giveaway announcement

Giveaways are void where prohibited or restricted by law.

The Sponsor, its employees, contractors directly involved in administering the giveaway, and members of their immediate households are not eligible to enter.

Because laws and shipping limitations vary, some giveaways may be restricted to particular countries, states, or regions. Eligibility will be stated in the individual giveaway announcement.

5. Giveaway Period

The beginning and ending dates and times will be stated in the giveaway announcement.

Entries must be received before the stated deadline. The Sponsor’s systems, or the relevant social platform’s recorded time, will serve as the official timekeeper.

6. How to Enter

Entrants must follow the instructions in the giveaway announcement.

Entries may be disqualified if they are:

Incomplete or submitted after the deadline
Submitted using automated, fraudulent, or deceptive methods
Submitted through multiple accounts or identities to evade an entry limit
In violation of these rules or the giveaway instructions
Inappropriate, unlawful, abusive, or disruptive

Unless expressly permitted, entries generated by bots, commercial sweepstakes-entry services, or automated systems are not allowed.

Entry limits will be stated in the giveaway announcement.

7. Winner Selection and Odds

Unless otherwise stated, the winner will be selected randomly from all eligible entries received during the giveaway period.

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

The drawing will normally occur within 72 hours after the giveaway closes unless another time frame is stated.

8. Winner Notification

The potential winner will be notified using the method described in the giveaway announcement, which may include email, direct message, comment, or public announcement.

Unless another deadline is stated, the potential winner must respond within 72 hours of the notification being sent.

The Sponsor may select an alternate winner when:

The potential winner does not respond by the deadline
A notification is returned or cannot be delivered
The potential winner is ineligible
The potential winner does not provide information reasonably needed to verify eligibility or deliver the prize
The potential winner does not comply with these rules

The Sponsor is not responsible for messages directed to spam folders, filtered messages, unavailable accounts, or incorrect contact information supplied by an entrant.

For higher-value prizes, a potential winner may be required to provide proof of eligibility and sign appropriate eligibility, liability, tax, or publicity documents before receiving the prize.

9. Prizes

The prize and, when applicable, its approximate retail value will be stated in the giveaway announcement.

Unless the Sponsor agrees otherwise:

Prizes are not transferable
Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash
Only the stated prize will be awarded
Gift cards are subject to the issuer’s terms
Any taxes or reporting obligations are the winner’s responsibility
The winner is responsible for providing accurate delivery information

If a stated prize becomes unavailable, the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

The Sponsor is not responsible for prizes that are lost, stolen, damaged, or misdirected after being sent to the address or account provided by the winner, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

Physical prizes are generally shipped within 30 days after the winner provides all required information. Shipping time may vary based on destination, carrier availability, and other circumstances outside the Sponsor’s control.

Any special restrictions associated with a prize will be disclosed in the giveaway announcement.

10. Prize Images and Descriptions

Prize photographs may be used for illustration. Colors, packaging, editions, designs, or other details may vary from what appears in promotional materials.

Unless expressly stated, manufacturers, retailers, authors, publishers, and other brands whose products appear in a giveaway are not sponsors or administrators of the promotion and do not endorse it.

11. Entrant Content

When an entry requires a photograph, written response, review, artwork, or other original content, the entrant confirms that:

The entrant created the content or has permission to submit it
The content does not violate another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, or other rights
Any person shown in the content has consented to its submission when consent is required
The content does not contain unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or obscene material

The entrant retains ownership of original entry content.

By submitting it, the entrant gives the Sponsor a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and share the entry as reasonably necessary to administer and promote the giveaway, unless the giveaway announcement states otherwise.

This narrower license is much cleaner than claiming permanent worldwide rights to every entrant’s name, voice, image, biography, and likeness.

12. Publicity

Where permitted by law, the winner may be identified publicly by first name, social-media username, city and state, or other limited information reasonably connected to announcing the result.

The Sponsor will request additional permission before using a winner’s photograph, testimonial, full likeness, or personal story in separate advertising unless permission was already included in the specific giveaway rules.

13. Privacy

Information collected in connection with a giveaway will be used to:

Administer the giveaway
Verify eligibility
Contact the winner
Deliver the prize
Maintain legally required records
Prevent fraud or abuse

Entering a giveaway does not automatically subscribe an entrant to marketing emails unless the entrant separately and clearly chooses to subscribe.

Information may also be processed by the platform or service through which the giveaway is conducted, subject to that provider’s privacy policy.

14. Social-Media Disclaimer

When a giveaway is conducted through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or another social-media platform:

The promotion is sponsored and administered by Nicole Edwards Limited
It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with the social-media platform unless expressly stated otherwise
Entrants provide their information to the Sponsor, not to the social-media platform, except for information the platform collects independently
Entrants must comply with the platform’s applicable terms and policies

Facebook specifically requires promotions administered through its platform to include an acknowledgment that Facebook is not sponsoring, endorsing, administering, or associating itself with the promotion.

15. Technical Problems and Giveaway Changes

The Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, or not received because of technical failures, platform outages, transmission errors, account restrictions, filtering, or circumstances outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control.

If fraud, technical failure, platform changes, security concerns, natural events, shipping limitations, or another unexpected circumstance prevents a giveaway from operating fairly or as intended, the Sponsor may:

Pause or modify the giveaway
Extend or shorten the entry period when reasonably necessary
Disqualify affected or suspicious entries
Select a winner from eligible entries already received
Cancel the giveaway

Any change will be communicated through the same channel used to announce the giveaway when reasonably possible.

16. Conduct and Disqualification

The Sponsor may disqualify an entrant who:

Tampers with or attempts to manipulate the entry or selection process
Uses false information or multiple identities
Harasses the Sponsor, another entrant, or the selected winner
Violates these rules or the applicable platform’s rules
Engages in fraud, abuse, or conduct intended to disrupt the giveaway

The Sponsor may take lawful action against anyone who intentionally damages the website, giveaway system, or legitimate operation of a promotion.

17. Release and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, entrants agree that the Sponsor and those assisting with the giveaway will not be responsible for claims, losses, injuries, damages, or expenses resulting from:

Participation in the giveaway
Acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a prize
Technical or communication failures
Unauthorized interference with the giveaway
Incorrect information supplied by an entrant
Events beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control

Nothing in these rules excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

18. Disputes and Governing Law

To the extent permitted by law, these rules and any dispute concerning a giveaway will be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any legal proceeding must be brought individually, rather than as part of a class or representative action, in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in Texas, unless applicable law gives the entrant a right that cannot be waived.

When disclosure is legally required, requests for winner information may be sent to:

The request must identify the specific giveaway and be received within 30 days after it ends.

The Sponsor may provide only the information legally required and will not disclose a winner’s full address, email address, telephone number, or other unnecessary personal information.
