Distraction

Description

Time doesn’t always heal a broken heart; sometimes it only deepens the shadows, intensifying the pain.

Dylan Thomas has spent the past ten years adrift in these shadows, mourning the loss of his wife, his confidante, the very soul of his being. He had long accepted a life devoid of emotion, ensnared in a world bereft of light and hope.

That was the day the bottle claimed victory, and he surrendered to the darkness.

Until one fateful night, when his fragile, crumbling world was infused with life.

The woman who breached his carefully constructed defenses dismissed their connection as merely a fleeting distraction, a temporary escape. Yet, that brief glimpse of life, of feeling once more, ignited a flicker of strength within him, allowing Dylan to rise from the abyss.

But sobriety is a journey taken one day at a time, and three years later might just be too late.
