The title seems to hint at doom and gloom, huh? Well, it’s not. I mean, unless you consider that I was all geared up to have a kick-ass start to my week, only for the power to go out shortly after I sat down in my writing cave to start writing.
It’s been out for two hours now. Luckily, when my battery backup power started to diminish, I was able to grab my laptop and relocate to the kitchen. Now, as I sit here, the sun is beginning to come up, providing a little more light than the quickly draining flashlight aimed at the ceiling. The other good thing is that it’s not yet summer, so we won’t break a sweat. I hope.
Since I couldn’t really focus on writing thanks to the rapid beeping of the battery backups, I thought I would take a minute to update you on what I’m working on.
As you might’ve seen recently, Rough & Dirty is complete and gearing up for release on June 11th. A lot has to happen between now and then, but it’s all ready for you. I sure hope you’re ready for Stone Jameson. Early readers have good things to say, but I’ll hold off on blasting you with that for now.
While we wait for release day for the Jamesons, I’m in the process of writing more for the Walkers. In fact, I’m writing Violet’s book. You might remember her from other books in the Walkers of Coyote Ridge series. Violet Anderson owns Shelf Help, the small bookstore in Coyote Ridge. I’ve learned through my mental discussions with the sassy young woman that she’s prone to falling for bad boys, so when a nice guy rolls into town and finds her irresistible, she isn’t quite sure what to do with herself.
And while I am doing my best to focus on Violet, there’s another story that’s been floating around in my head. I’m having a difficult time putting it on the back burner, so there’s a good chance I’ll dive back into that one. We’ll see.
So that’s where I am at the moment.
Technically, I’m sitting at my kitchen table while Hennessy snoozes at my feet, Moscato monitors the goings-on in the neighborhood from the front room, and Heineken naps on his favorite bed by the fireplace. My plans for today to be a very productive day are dwindling, but I’m still hopeful. On the bright side, if the power doesn’t come back on, I won’t have to do laundry.
Happy Monday, y’all!
Much ❤️,
Nicole
